Sahara Tent Restaurant Review

Image
We were at Hock Choon and decided to have lunch nearby and we saw Sahara Tent only a stone throw away at Hock Choon grocery. I love middle eastern food and that is why I did not hesitate to get lunch there. The restaurant is huge and as soon as you enter you can see the interior decoration a bit middle eastern vibe, colorful and spacious. We choose to sit at the corner near the window facing the road, not a good choice though a bit humid. Inside there is more table available actually. Connected to the restaurant is a Thai restaurant a bit strange also. So we ordered Mandi Lamb, Humus and Arayes Lamb. The Mandi lamb is ok nothing special for me. Tender and the tomato salsa is really match made it heaven. Although I prefer lamb with fats a a bit gravy on it.  The Humus is soo silky, served with 1 bread, it is so fresh and crusty, I love it but quite stingy though I wish they add more 1 piece. Although I prefer a bit grainy humus. Its fine anyway. First time to try Arayes. Surprisingl...

Review: Restoran Asam Batu Laut

Image
Restoran Asam Batu Laut Type: Seafood Restaurant Location: Kampung, Batu Lapan, Tanjong Sepet, Selangor in Morib From Kuala Lumpur: 1:30 hours Third time here at Restoran Asam Batu Laut (亚三峇都港海鲜饭店) in Morib.  It took about 1:30 hours to get there from KL. Make sure you use Waze. There is a large parking space outside the restaurant. Large dining area/hall. All tables are round and good for groups and families. Can smell sea breeze but not recommended for swimming or dipping.  It is run by a Malaysian Chinese family and you will notice the kids helping out with the serving. The food was great and freshly cooked. Have variety of choices and styles of cooking and flavors.  The chilli crab was fresh and well seasoned, but I noticed it was unevenly cooked.  The Mongolian Prawns is a must-try. Soury-sweet. My favorite was the oyster omelet. They were very generous with the oysters.  Fried squid, the batter was light and the squid was cooked perfectly.  The...

Malaysia Life (2012-2013)

In 2012, i moved from Singapore to KL because I am not really happy with my work in Singapore that time. I'm a nurse by profession and I worked as a private nurse here in KL (Lingkungan U-thant). Salary is ok, work is easy but my patient died after 3 months. It is kinda stressful because it means that you don't have a job if you're patient dies.  After 1-2 months i guess, I found a new patient at Pantai Dalam, a lung cancer patient and immediately i knew that this is a short term patient. The family is very good and treated me as a family. I travelled with them in Cambodia and i felt I'm included in their family. But after 3 months again, he passed away. Its sad, really sad because i didn't lose a job only but also family. I gotta move on and find another patient. There are many networks of private nurses and caregivers here in KL. Many professional nurses but majority are caregivers and others are force to learn the job because it is a high paying job. August 20...

Cambodia

Travelling to Cambodia is one of my most memorable experience. Exploring the countryside and meeting local people is such fun to do. I was able to learn their culture and their history. Meet a few Cambodian friends which made a good bond throughout my short journey. Pier my private tuktuk driver who patiently waited me every tourist spot we went and he also speaks a good English. He also introduced me to a Cambodian noodles which tasted really good. Ounet, a pettite girl working for Auntie Lucille a Malaysian missionary, a hardworking girl with full of dreams. Teng, a very friendly and very hxardworking guy with twin daughters,. I really miss the simplicity of the country and the people. I hope i can go back there again some day soon.

Money

She helped us alot in many ways, Im thanking her for that. My life here was so different, my lifestyle and my work. Back in Singapore, im totally independent, wash my clothes, go out anytime, meet new people secretly in short i hold my time. Now, that i am here, most of it changed, from food all was served was fantastic, my room is very huge especially the toilet and i do not wash my clothes my aunt do it for me. In a way my life become less miserable however im stuck in a very big house 24/7. I cannot do what i want. My salary was okay compared before, much better literally. Work is fine but boring. Most of the time i just divert my emotions to my Facebook, twitter and other social networks. At the end of the day, I realized, i am so blessed that i had this opportunity, while others s...
